Golden Field - Leopard

A number of threats are facing wild leopards, primarily due to habitat loss and human pressure, while captive animals suffer in zoos, circuses, and under private ownership. Nowadays, big cats pace continuously in zoos, frustrated by their inability to hunt and defend their territories.

What causes leopards to disappear?

Humans are their biggest predators, which should not surprise us.
Due to their beauty, these cats are on the verge of extinction due to poaching for leopard fur and other body parts.

There are nine subspecies of them. There are approximately 250,000 leopards in the world today. Leopards are listed as Near Threatened by conservationists.
