Arctic fox is a small canine that lives throughout the Arctic Circle. Certainly, the Arctic fox qualifies as a “survivor." Temperatures below -50°F can be experienced in the habitats of these little creatures.
In the summer, they shed their bright white fur and assume a dull gray/brown color until the snow returns.
Arctic ecosystems are incredibly harsh. It has no trees, is cold, and is frozen. There is permafrost on the ground. Grass grows lush and flowering plants bloom briefly during summer. In addition to living in forested areas, they also live on the edge of the Arctic.
